About the Experience

The Blyde River Canyon Nature Reserve, officially known as Motlatse Canyon Provincial Nature Reserve, is one of South Africa's most spectacular natural wonders. As the third largest canyon in the world and the largest 'green canyon' due to its lush subtropical foliage, it offers visitors an unparalleled experience of dramatic scenery and natural beauty.

Covering 29,000 hectares, the reserve stretches from misty highlands down to the hotter Lowveld at the Blyde Dam. The canyon features some of the deepest precipitous cliffs on the planet, creating a breathtaking backdrop for exploration and adventure.

The reserve incorporates several iconic natural wonders that are easily accessible via tarred roads from the picturesque village of Graskop.
