"Rustic riverfront chalets a stone's throw from the Crocodile Bridge Gate."
Self-catering retreat just outside the park boundary.
Situated literally meters from the Crocodile Bridge Gate entrance to Kruger, Elephant Walk offers very affordable, rustic self-catering chalets and budget canvas tents right on the banks of the Crocodile River.
Elephant Walk Retreat is all about location and value. It sits on a prime piece of real estate just upstream from the Crocodile Bridge entrance to Kruger. The location is so close to the park border that you can hear the lions roaring from your bed at night.
The accommodation is unpretentious and rustic. It features simple, fully equipped self-catering chalets that are perfect for families or small groups splitting costs, as well as very basic pre-erected tents for those on a stricter budget.
The highlight is the sweeping lawn that leads down to the Crocodile River fence. Guests can braai (BBQ) outside their chalets while watching herds of elephants coming to drink exactly opposite the property.
There are no luxury amenities—this is a "do-it-yourself" retreat—but the proximity to the gate means you can be the first car in the park when the gates open at dawn.
Fully self-catering. Each chalet has a kitchenette and outside braai. You bring your own food and cook your own meals.
Operates as a private retreat outside the park boundary, focusing on low-impact self-catering stays.
