About Kruger Inn Backpackers

Situated inside the Marloth Park wildlife conservancy, this highly affordable backpacker hostel allows guests to experience free-roaming wildlife (zebra, giraffe, kudu) literally on their doorstep, while staying in cheap dorms or private rooms.

Kruger Inn Backpackers offers an experience completely unique to the budget scene: cheap accommodation nestled in the middle of a wildlife conservancy. Located in Marloth Park (which borders the Crocodile River along southern Kruger), there are no fences separating properties from the resident plains game.

This means you can wake up in a modest dorm bed, walk out to the communal patio to make your morning coffee, and find a giraffe or a sounder of warthogs wandering through the garden.

The setup is basic but clean and comfortable. It features mixed dorms and simple private rooms, shared bathrooms, a fully equipped communal kitchen, a splash pool, and a fire pit. It is an incredibly peaceful, nature-immersive experience that is usually only accessible at much higher price points.

Because it's in Marloth Park, guests can walk to lookout points over the Crocodile River into Kruger to spot elephants and lions for free.

Food & Drink / Self-Catering

Strictly self-catering. Guests use the communal kitchen or outdoor braai areas. There are a few affordable restaurants and pubs within walking distance in Marloth Park.
