One of the oldest camps, featuring unique rock formations and a massive swimming pool built around a natural rock.
Pretoriuskop is the oldest rest camp in the Kruger National Park. Because it is located at a slightly higher altitude, it is noticeably cooler than other camps in summer. The landscape features prominent granite outcrops (koppies), offering fantastic vantage points. It is one of the few places in the park where you have a good chance of spotting rare antelope like Sable and Lichtenstein’s Hartebeest, alongside high rhino populations.
The roads immediately surrounding Pretoriuskop are renowned for excellent game viewing. If staying here, prioritize these routes on your morning drives:
Excellent places to park and wait for the wildlife to come to you.
Inquire at camp reception for schedules and booking. (Self-drives are always available during gate times).
Camp gates follow standard park times.
